On September 24th, Team Merritt’s Way will gather for the fourth year in a row to ride 25, 50 or 100 miles as part of the Rodman Ride.

Twenty-two riders will ride for Merritt’s Way in the annual Boston-based cycling event since to raise funds for TextLess Live More and the Merritt Levitan TEEP Scholars program, both funded by Merritt’s Way.

Happy Merritt’s Way Team Members 2015 – After the Ride!

Merritt’s father Richard Levitan has set an impressive personal goal for the ride…

I’m doing my best to get fit so the 50 miles I ride is easy and I’ve got the stamina and fitness to enjoy the day, the amazing group of friends who will join me for, in some cases, the 4th year in a row, and to celebrate Merritt throughout the day!

Levitan lost his eldest daughter Merritt Levitan on July 3, 2013 to a young driver who was texting. Merritt was 18 years old. TextLess Live More was founded by friends of Merritt’s at Milton Academy following the tragedy, to educate drivers of all ages about the real dangers of driving distracted. The organization’s goal is to prevent accidents and deaths that occur to distracted driving, this generation’s drunk driving.

Since 2013, Merritt’s Way has distributed over 15,000 TextLess Live More blue bracelets around the nation with a goal to raise awareness about the dangers of driving while distracted by social media. TextLess Live More’s mission and Merritt’s story has reached over 23 million readers around the world and continues to grow.  And talented inner city students, Merritt Levitan TEEP Scholars, have had the opportunity to build critical leadership and college readiness skills, all provided by the Merritt’s Way Fund and your generosity.

Levitan is committed to ending distracted driving from social media, to save lives in honor of Merritt

The work we are doing at Merritt’s Way, TextLess Live More, and TEEP is changing behavior and making a difference in the lives of many. Your continued generosity enables Merritt’s Way to pursue our mission to end distracted driving, save lives through awareness, and create leaders in communities across the country! Come on out and join us! adds Levitan.
